A superhero theme can be a good one to help teach your students character traits, strengths, and weaknesses. Many students are familiar with superheroes and their extra abilities. This is a great way to help students find their strengths and embrace their weaknesses. Keep reading for my favorite superhero books that my little learners loved!

Superhero Books for Little Learners
This level 1 reader is a great way to encourage students to read books with their favorite characters. It is a simple reader about the Marvel Avenger characters.

This little girl is trying to be brave like her favorite superhero, Wonder Woman! She has a big day filled with some hard tasks, but she can do them!
Benny the Brave in The First Day Jitters
Benny is going to be brave on the first day of school, but this would also be a great book for a new student joining your room. Learn about all the best character traits that you can exhibit each and every day.
Read about some tips to help children deal with anger. Students can see how the character regulates her breathing and calms her body when she is feeling angry. It is a wonderful addition to your calm-down area or a reminder for the whole class.
Teach students about being grateful for the wonderful things in their lives. The character has a magic stone that helps her be thankful, but one day, it is gone. She soon realizes that gratitude is in her heart, not the stone.

Nonfiction Superhero Books
Take Care of Yourself series- Students can learn about basic skills to take care of themselves with these books. They have simple text and vocabulary with colorful photographs for children. There are other books in the series, too: Staying Safe in the Sun, Keeping Clean, Eating Well, and Looking After Your Teeth.
Our Bodies series is another great nonfiction series to teach about the body and how it all functions. Superheroes have to take care of their bodies to stay in tip-top shape to help save the world. You can find other titles like Our Lungs, Our Blood, Our Bones, Our Hearts, and Our Skin.
Now I Know Kicking, Running, and Stretching
This is a great nonfiction book about staying active and moving your body to keep it healthy.
