I have been working with ESGI to get all my assessments in their system, which means that you can have a digital or paper form to use in your classroom! This makes my assessments more accessible for the different requirements in each state and school building. But it also means that you may have to learn a new software system, blah! So I have grabbed some screenshots to walk you through the process of setting up your class in ESGI.

What is ESGI?
To start, let’s talk about what ESGI is and why it may be helpful in your classroom. ESGI is an easy progress monitoring software that provides you with instant data and reports once the student has completed the ESGI assessments. There are thousands of pre-made assessments available on the site, and you can quickly tailor your tests to fit all the student levels in your classroom.Â
I partnered with ESGI and have added my assessments found in the Just the Assessments resource to the software so they are digital. This allows you to keep your data digitally if you like that option or if it is required for your school. I love that ESGI collects the data and puts it into charts, a bar graph, and reports so I can easily align my teaching to the individual needs of my students.Â
Another feature that I love about ESGI is they offer a variety of pre-made assessments across a huge range of skills and from preschool to second grade! Plus, it is so easy to find tests since you can filter by grade level, subject, test author, and more. You can find yes/no tests, rubrics, and single-score tests to use with your students. If you don’t see a test that you need, you can make your own tests on the ESGI software. Plus, you can provide parents with flash cards customized for each student, reports that are easy to understand, and create a parent letter in other languages to help you reach all your families.Â

How to Set Up a Class in ESGI
ESGI Home Screen! This is the ESGI home screen. Once you log in, you are going to open your class/student tab. There is a class/student tab and a subject tab. In the class/student tab you are able to make classes, groups, and add students.
Add Options! Click the + button, and this brings a dropdown menu to add a student, add student via files, add a class, and add a group.
Name the Class! I clicked Add a Class…and it brings up a new window on the right-hand side of your screen. Here, you will fill out the name of your class, and you can add students if they are already in the system. Click create class in the upper right corner, and your new class will show up in the class/student tab.
Adding Your Students! Now that you have a class, you can add students. You have 2 options: Add a Student or Add Student via File. The first option allows you to fill in the student name, date of birth, race, special services they receive (IEP, therapy, etc.), and has you pick the location you want them added to (this is where you click the class you want the student in).
Adding Your Student Files! The Add Student via File option allows you to upload student information from a CSV or XLS file.
Class List! Once all your students are added to your class, you can add tests or put the students into small groups. You can see your entire class and assign them to certain assessments so you know who needs what and when. There are tests for sight words, math skills, and literacy skills. This is a great way to streamline your student assessments and get student data quickly.Â
It is so easy to utilize ESGI, and I am excited to be able to provide you with digital versions of my student assessments! To learn more about the assessments included watch this video. Use code POCKET for a FREE trial of ESGI!
