Dinosaur Counting Puzzles (1-20)

Kids LOVE puzzles!  What better way to practice those counting skills (and one-to-one correspondence) than with Dinosaur Counting Puzzles?!  These puzzles are essential for my dinosaur theme and are just perfect for my preschool friends (and kinder, too).

Prepping the Dinosaur COunting Puzzles

• Print the puzzles on paper.  I used colored paper to add some interest.  You can also print them on white paper and let the kiddos color the puzzles too.
• Laminate and cut out the puzzles so you can use them over and over.

Differentiation

All of your students will not be at the same level, so tailor the activity to meet their individual needs.  Examples may be:

• Only use the puzzles up to the number 5
• Only use the puzzles up to the number 10
• Only use the puzzles up to the number 15
• Use all the puzzles to 20

Add Manipulatives

First, grab some counters (dinosaur counters if you have them).   As students complete the puzzles, they can count out the total number of counters to add a hands-on component to the activity.
