It’s just about that time to pull out the tent, pack up the car, and head out into the woods for some bonding time with mother nature. It is camping season! To kick off the fun-filled, roasting marshmallows, sleeping under the stars season in the classroom with a few books!

Camping Books for Little Learners
This book highlights all of the wonderful activities to do while camping. From gathering wood, fishing, and frolicking in the woods… the illustrations alone will take you on a trip.
Can Ruby and her friend make it through the night while sleeping in a tent? There are some unpredictable events… but try not to worry, because Ruby has a plan!
Pete the Cat Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Singing around the campfire is a must when you go camping. This version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, brought to you by Pete the Cat, is the perfect book to read in honor of camping.
Another great classic… especially if your camping trip involves a boat ride! Play a musical instrument along with their sheet music that’s included in the book.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
It’s only appropriate to have this book on the list… after all, the bears do live in the forest. Maybe one of your little learners will catch a glimpse of their cottage while camping.
Fish EyesLet’s sneak a little counting and adding practice into the camping fun with this fish book. It has bright fish drawings along with rhyming text. The perfect read-aloud book.
Camping Out with Little Critter
Sometimes, camping can be scary. Especially at night. Prepare your little learners about the bumps in the night by reading this book.
I LOVE this story about a young pig and father that going fishing together for the first time. Piggy digs up his own worms, but can’t bring himself to use it as bait. They end up using something else for bait instead. Very cute!
Camping and nature hunts go hand in hand. Get those little learner’s brains warmed up and thinking about all the wonderful things they can see while out on a nature hunt.

This My First Reader Book is full of fun and colorful illustrations of different animals that live in North America. A great read-aloud book that is a great stepping stone to learning how to read.
The wonderful world of rocks is on full display in this camping book. Kids and rocks are the perfect combinations, especially when you are enjoying the great outdoors.
