Math Books for Little Learners
Introducing the Math Center
I use these 2 books to introduce the math center at the beginning of the year. After reading Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3, I introduce magnet numbers. After reading Pete the Cat, I introduce buttons for counters and show other fun counters in the math center. Then we talk about how we can play with them: sort them, path games (Get the freebie!), put in a scale to explore weight, make patterns with them, with printable games (I have the t-shirt game out from the school centers unit).
